Sports Physical
Our team doctor, Dr. David Bell, has graciously offered to perform sports physicals for our athletes again this year for a low cost of only $20.00. Mark your calendars for July 28 or August 4 at 6:00.
Dr. Bell will be seeing our athletes on a first-come, first-served basis. Your physical will be good for one year. Dr. Bell is donating all the proceeds from both of these nights back to our athletic department. It’s an easy, quick, and inexpensive way to mark this task off your to-do list. Address: 5000 Pleasanton Avenue #200, Pleasanton. Fill out the Bell Physical Form prior to arriving in order to speed up the process.
We also need at least 6 volunteers each night to help with the check-in process. If you are available, please email Melanie at marace@dublinvcc.org. Thanks in advance for volunteering.

Valley Christian Boosters Summer Sports Kick-Off!
The Valley Christian Boosters and the Athletic Department cordially invite you to our First-Ever Summer Sports Kick-Off. We will be hosting a cook-out and live concert. The event is free and all we are asking is that people bring a dessert or a main dish as all hot dogs and hamburgers will be provided by Boosters. When we began the 2009 athletic season we were determined to add fun and family into the activities at Valley Christian. So we hope you will join us for a great afternoon of food, fellowship and music. The band, Jaymes Reunion is a Tri-Valley group that just recently released its first album under the Sony-BEC label. Playing a fun top 40 style of music this group of Christian men are turning heads all over the nation.
We are holding this event at the Mathews Family Ranch which is a beautiful location with seating under Oak Trees and by the still waters of San Ramon Creek. Additionally, there will be swimming (bring your own towel/goggles, sunscreen, etc) and other activities available for parents and students to enjoy.
Date: Saturday August 7, 2010
Time: 3:00 pm-6:00 pm
See Boosters Page for detailed information.

CONGRATULATIONS TO ALL OUR SPORTS TEAMS THIS YEAR!
At our high school we had 7 varsity teams participate in the North Coast Section playoffs! Amazing for a school of our size. Our league awards were also very impressive. The BCL-E MVP’s for men’s and women’s volleyball went to two Valley Christian players, Erika Bellitt and Brett Fountain. The women’s varsity volleyball team is the BCL-E Division Champions and our first ever varsity football team played in the semi-final of the NCS in Division 4....another amazing finish! Our junior high boy’s and girl’s basketball teams both finished as BACSAL Champions and also our boy’s volleyball team.
Thank you parents for all your support and we hope that you will consider joining our Booster Club. We are a group of parents and friends of VCS athletes committed to making a safe and memorable experience for all our kids. Contact John Roush at valleychristianboosters@yahoo.com

*WHAT IS NEW IN ATHLETICS FOR JUNIOR HIGH*
6th, 7th, and 8th Graders
Boys Wrestling
I am pleased to announce that the Valley Christian Athletic Department is continuing to add more opportunities for our kid's athletic participation. Our most recent addition is the Junior High Boys Wrestling Team. This team is now forming and is open to all 6th, 7th, and 8th grade boys.
We introduced wresting to our campus with this year's high school team. The Junior High program is a great chance for the boys to try wrestling. It is a sport where boys of all sizes and abilities can develop their athletic skills in a fun and demanding sport. It is a short season running through April 15th. Like all of our teams, it is Christ-centered and is one more way for the student-athletes to develop life skills -- like physical and mental focus, self-discipline, winning with humility and losing with dignity, and working in a team environment. Wrestling develops the tactical skills of a chess player and the physical skills of an athlete.
We are having a wrestling information night this Thursday, February 11th in the elementary school multi-use room. The boys can bring PE clothes and learn the basics of wrestling on the mat. A short parent's meeting will follow at 7:30.
Boys and Girls Tennis
Tennis instruction for Beginning and Intermediate players. $40.00 per week (MWF-matches played on Saturday afternoons) at the San Ramon Tennis Club. This group will train with the new Varsity Tennis coach Dejan. Call for more information 415-310-1011.
Student Golf
Our Varsity Golf coach has opened up his practices to include junior high students. Contact Tom Lee at tlee@dublinvcc.org for more information.
