Dan Burton has been the head coach of Valley Christian's wrestling programs since its beginning in 2009. Dan grew up in the Tri-Valley. Dan was a varsity wrestler all four years of high school and graduated from Dublin High School. Three of those years included freestyle wrestling. He also trained with California wrestling powerhouse Chabot College. Much of his coaching technique was learned from his outstanding coaches and mentors.
Dan's passion is to train young athletes in the sport of wrestling while teaching them important characteristics like sportsmanship, a champion's attitude, the value of working hard towards a goal, and living a Christian life. These goals permeate his coaching philosophy. Dan is a graduate of San Jose State University with a degree in electrical engineering. He works in Silicon Valley and lives in Livermore with his wife and daughter. He enjoys camping, fishing, and martial arts.
