This year was a marked year for all of the Women's Volleyball Teams.
Varsity led the way, making it into the NCS playoffs and winning in the
quarter-finals against Bay of SF. See the article written by the Dublin

During the Semi-final match against University High School, they fell to a
team that made it into the State Championships. Varsity had a great year
with endless memories to think of when they need them. Rebecca Silva was
awarded League 1st Team as a Setter. What that means is that all Coaches in
our League thought she should represent the League as their starting Setter.
Ashley Baldi was awarded 2nd Team as a Middle Blocker and Hitter. Ashley
was up against girls that were 6-2 and 6-1 but the League Coaches admired
her professionalism and tenacious fire, roofing those same girls. Maclane
Hoenig was awarded an Honorable Mention as an Outside Hitter for her Spirit
and continuous positive attitude.
JV finished their league in 1st place losing only 1 match the entire season. Although there is not a Championship tournament for this group, there was
still outstanding play seen by the likes of Megan Mathews and Tia Woodson
hitting Outside, Rebekah Rogers already Setting a 5-1 system, Alex Aqua and
Oseme Ibhawo equally causing trouble at the Middle, Kylie Greer our leading
Ace Server, and Izzy Ayad and Berkeley Skillcorn as our big Opposites. This
was a large squad as well and next year will be exciting to see some of
these girls play up to Varsity.
JH girls A had a positive season and had to face many adversities when they
lost their Setter, Alyssa Guthrie, due to injury in the beginning of the
Season. They quickly adapted to keep the drive alive and learned a lot
about playing in tough situations. Alyssa Arace was the League's best
hitter by far. There were no hitters in the League that could hit with time
and pace as she did. Kate Sorel followed with her own heat at OH. Adrianna
Armendariz and Ellen Kiser played MB while Mindy Macalino lived and breathed
OP. Lastly, Whitney Carter owned the back court playing Libero.

JH girls B capped the season with a League Championship title! Rookie Head
Coaches Rebecca Silva and Ashley Baldi took their love of the game to the
next level by leading these young girls from a great come-from-behind
series. The semifinals was 1st vs. 4th and they took out the #1 seed 2-1 in
sets to lead them into the Championship match. Tough serving and great
on-court presence helped them win the Championship with nice margin. The
entire Team played with unity and so kudos to all: Mariam Anthony, Ashley
Barker, Olivia Cano, Tawny Halter, Stephanie Kerry, Samantha Lai, Anna
Michel, Christina Nakao, Alexandria Parra, Brianna Prestia, Rachel Rogers,
Sarah Sanchez, and Samantha Soong.
