Continuing its streak of winning ways, the Viking Varsity Men's Tennis Team defeated a St. Joseph Notre Dame team 7-1 recently in Alameda. Playing in the #1 spot Andrew Wilson went 1-1 while Patrick Stanley and Austin Shah were both a perfect 3-0 in their matches.
Next up is a match against The Kings Academy this Thursday in Sunnyvale.

Sheri Langraf is Team Parent for the Men's Tennis Team. She's been serving in this capacity all season but her critical role does need to be officially stated, and appreciation to her for all her work officially expressed. Sheri has been Tennis Team Parent a number of times previously, having served in this capacity when Joshua Landgraf played for the Viking team.
The players and coach thank Mrs. Langraf for the outstanding job she's done and continues to do as Team Parent for the 2013 Men's Tennis Team.

The surging Men's Tennis Team triumphed 6-2 over a hard fighting Bentley squad yesterday in a terrific afternoon of tennis at the Bentley campus in Lafayette. Easton Schwaegerle twice forced overtime against his opponent in the #1 singles spot. Austin Shah, Patrick Stanley, and Jonathan Landgraf all went 2-0. Andrew Wilson went 1-1, defeating his first opponent handily before playing an overtime tie-breaker in his second match of the day.
The team is grateful to the many parents who were there to watch, and to team alumnus Joshua Landgraf who has assisted at practice and at matches this week during his break from college.
Next up for the Viking racquetmen is a Tuesday match with St. Joseph Notre Dame in Alameda.

Jonathan Landgraf has been named Captain of the Varsity Tennis Team. Jonathan is an experienced player who has demonstrated leadership and vision on and off the tennis court. A Freshman, he is goalie for the VCHS Varsity Soccer Team, and is very active in Speech & Debate as well as in the Science Club. Jonathan is captain of Odyssey of the Mind Club which he founded at VCHS, and is working on his Eagle Scout project.

The Viking Men's Tennis Team streaked through the first full week of tennis match competition with Jonathan Landgraf, Easton Schwaegerle, Austin Shah, Patrick Stanley and Andrew Wilson all winning at least one match March 12 against a determined Head Royce opponent.
The following day the team traveled across the Bay to the Presidio to play a San Francisco University High team where Viking Patrick Stanley was a perfect 3-0 while Andrew Wilson and Easton Schwaegerle both were 2-1. Austin Shah and Viking #1 player Jonathan Landgraf drew difficult assignments. Austin and doubles partner Patrick notched a hard fought victory while Jonathan fell in an over-time decision before later playing doubles with Easton where they fought to a tie in the last match of the day.
