MATCHES
High School matches consist of the top six players perschool competing against each other for individual and team score. Each week during practice the top six will be selected to compete in the next, upcoming match. No players are guaranteed to play in each match and no players are guaranteed not to play. Occasionally, we will travel with the top six and bring one or two extra players to play behind the matches as a challenge score for the next matches. Also, during home matches we will play our top 10 players. The top 6 will be scoring against the other team and the next 4 will be challenge scores for the top six for the next match.
ETIQUETTE
Strict emphasis is placed on etiquette on and off the golf course. Proper Language, dress, behavior and attitude will be closely monitored and reinforced. Consistent lessons in golf etiquette will be emphasized that include: repairing ball marks, divots, where to stand, etc… All of these lessons in golf etiquette will be enforced during practices and matches.
EQUIPMENT
Players are not required to have a full set of clubs. Equipment can be very costly and players are encouraged to bring what they have. Additionally, we may have some extra equipment that can be used. If golfers would like to purchase some equipment, they may purchase at Golf Mart in Dublin for a 10% team discount. The golf coach can help with selecting what items to buy, if desired. New Titleist golf balls will be provided for matches but golfers should have plenty of golf balls of their own for practicing and extras for matches. The Course at Wente is very challenging with lots of opportunities to lose golf balls, so players should have extra.
