Let's Go Fishing
On April 15th, at Lake Chabot in Castro Valley, our VCHS Boys Baseball and Girls Softball teams, coaches, and parents, took part in a very special event called “Let’s Go Fishing”, which is organized by the staff of Outdoor Connection Ministries, and sponsored by Rotary.  For more than 20 years, Jim Grassi, master fishing instructor and Hall of Fame fisherman, has dedicated his time and love of fishing to providing special encouragement to the developmentally disabled.  Each year, by utilizing hundreds of community volunteers, including students from several surrounding high schools, Mr. Grassi and his team organize six different Special Kids Day Events for the Disabled, which impact approximately 1,500 developmentally disabled kids and young adults annually.  The program is the largest of its kind in the world.
The young men and women of our VCHS Baseball and Softball programs rose to the occasion, and displayed Godly character and loving guidance to the incredible kids and young adults they were partnered with.  It was an amazing experience for all who attended, and left all who participated with memories that  will last a lifetime.  Please take a few minutes to watch the slide show from our memorable day, which can be viewed by clicking on the link below.

All participants are required to raise a minimum amount (to be decided by this year’s JV and Varsity players). The VCHS Baseball Hit-A-Thon is our chief fundraiser.  Please consider sponsoring a participant.  Questions regarding this event may be directed to Leslye Flynn at meflynn@pacbell.net

In only our 2nd year rostering a JV baseball team, they are looking good and working hard, with Coach Anthony Harris as head coach.  Brandon Chan and A.J. Harris have both hit a home run this season, and we look for plenty more to come!
